Shrike is  a good character because in the  story  he has people on  his side to support him like the part when he* is an effective character because  he is  a  robot that  when he was sitting on an empty table and chair he decides to swing his dead  white face to tom friends  with his mechanic eyes that what makes  shrike an effective character. when he speakers he said this”Hester Shaw!” screeched a voice like a saw cutting metal.”

this demonstrates that shrike as a voice that could   echo and could speak any  language .

we find this out by the doorway a sudden cloud of vapour bloomed, and out of it stepped a Stalker.

In some cases he is terrifying and heartless  like in the part when he said i work  for mayor of London now and the mayor told me to come and kill  Hester for some apparent reason why does the mayor hate her for what kind  reason she s just   a little girl.

when i look at shrike  he looks like  a cave man   but  a robot  who has a musket that want to kill valentine those eyes of shrike that makes him look like an hawk hunting his prey and also those  that hair make him  looks like a mad man running  .

also  he is a effective because he got warriors on his side to defend him and to hunt valentine down but it s to late because shrike also  found   valentine but valentine and tom is camping in a cave .

tom describes valentine as  Hester as a horrible,ugly,vicious and self pitching  but the way  tom and Hester going Hester might abandon him it was because  that tom wants to protect Hester for shrike because Hester might be tom friend or brother and tom also thinking shrike should of gotten Hester for the way she is acting.

 

Shrike i think there is a happy side and a bad side in the story  i think he should  not be killing Hester and i think he should get after the mayor for trying to kill that little girl.

the mayor gave shrike an airship so he could search around the world to   find tom and Hester that just woke up by hearing him   come through the forest and the thing is shrike as red scanning  eyes  that could find where tom and Hester are.

while tom and Hester escaped  they jumped on a pirate ship and  escaped from it and left the survives behind but then a monster came and  then London bring something to    save them then it went back to the horizon..

shrike got  some of his pieces broken off by the fact  two countries owned  him.

tom and Hester thinking when they found shelter tom said  who that s girl said it heater  with  you and valentine it was Katherine her daughter when they  were talking Hester said they might carry us with an airship

shrike spotted Hester and tom and shrike landed his airship and walked up to heater while Hester got the branch in her hand while shrike airship got blown apart by  a city and what she heard of shrike was Hester whiles shrike got shot.

shrike and Hester was saying why the first country was running away so they decided to jump on the second country. they jumped on a suburb.
